Leadership

Posted on 21:09 by Unknown
JUNE 22, 2013

Hi everyone!

Today, I'd like to talk about Leadership. I've noticed a few things around me that relates to this topic and I wanted to address it.

I've noticed recently that not everyone is capable of being a leader. Sure, they might have the title, but in truth, they are not completely able to fulfill the role. Being able to make sound decisions is only one of the responsibilities of a leader.

Follower Relationship
A good leader must know how to create relationship with their followers. They must be approachable and open to their followers. Being feared is not a good quality of a leader. Team building is important and it starts with the leader.

Humility
A good leader must know how to be humble. There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. There is also a fine line between educating and simply showing off the knowledge bestowed upon them.

Good Example
If a leader acts unprofessional, their followers would think it is alright to act similarly. A good leader must maintain their cool at all times. In the instance that they lose their cool, they must be able to apologize and own up to their outburst.

What do you think? In your opinion, what makes a good leader?

San Diego Spotlight: M.A.D. Fix Coffee

Posted on 23:11 by Unknown
JUNE 19, 2013

Hi everyone!

I was so inspired by the goings-on today that I decided to start a new feature! I will now try to document every unique establishment that I visit around San Diego and Los Angeles! The very first feature is dear to me. It is a cute coffee cart in downtown San Diego. Check it out below!

M.A.D. Fix Coffee turned 1-month old today. It is a local-only coffee cart that features coffee locally roasted in San Diego, as well as pastries and organic cookies. The owner herself is dear to me because she was actually my former manager! I still miss having her as my lead, but alas, I must go on and survive without her. *tear* I am, however, so proud of her! Congratulations on following and achieving your dream, Dottie! Isn't she adorable? :) Click the picture below if you'd like to know more in her biography!

Starting a business is scary, but when you've dreamed about it most of your life, I guess there's nothing else to do but to make it happen. That's exactly what Dottie did with her dream. Check out the beautiful latte below. If I wasn't lactose intolerant, I'd totally be all over that baby!

As for me, I got my first Iced Coffee, EVER, and it was yummy! I could taste the passion and love for sure! It would be weird to have an empty cup as a keepsake, so I just kept the sleeve ;) #fangirlmoment

Do I have your attention yet? Check out the menu below! If you're a REAL coffee aficionado, I'd suggest going for the Brandon Dallo Special. I heard it's the bomb!

Not convinced yet? Well, check out what a customer had to say! The board does not lie.

Right now, you're probably salivating and craving your M.A.D. Fix. Make sure to pick up a business card and a gift certificate when you stop by. Your friends and family will love you forever!

Have you had enough yet? No? Me, neither. How about a video interview with the owner herself?! Check it out below!

Whew, wasn't this fun?! Make sure to follow M.A.D. Fix Coffee on the social media outlets below, and don't forget to GET YOUR MAD FIX ON!

Happy, Regardless

Ever since he left, he seems happier... I genuinely care, therefore, I'm happy that he's content, even if it meant leaving me behind..

Plans

Posted on 09:56 by Unknown

I used to be that person who needed to plan everything down to the smallest detail. However, things have changed and I've experienced how much fun it was to go with the flow and experience life as it goes. Planning things and then seeing it fall apart is like setting yourself up for disappoinment. I found it more fun to just let things happen and let them surprise me. Seeing other people worry so much about the little things and the planning of them just irritated me to no end yesterday. Don't hold back. You only have one life. Live it. Every minute counts.

Positive Thinking

Posted on 10:19 by Unknown

If you want to be happy, always find the bright side. We can always find the negative side of everything. It's easy. The real challenge is smiling and realizing there is still a reason to be grateful despite of the pain we're enduring at the time.
