A teenage-targeted movie about hope and determination.This movie was okay. Maybe it has something to do with me being in my early 20s, or maybe it's the main character. Whatever it was, I didn't fall in love with the movie, but I also didn't hate it. It was okay.
I love Emma Roberts. I think she's great. Her character Sally was the biggest inspiration that the opposing character George had in his life. This movie pretty much gravitated on the dysfunctional families that teenagers seem to have.
They became friends and they relied on each other to keep on going. George obviously liked Sally but of course he would never tell her until it was too late. George is the kind of guy that didn't want to bother going to school since we're all going to die anyway. What a very cynical way of looking at life. It was depressing, really.
As for the actor that played George, I thought he looked more like a boy than a teenager. I was cringing when I saw Emma's character kissing him. It just seemed wrong to me. As far as typecasting goes, he didn't seem old enough to be in high school. Is that cruel? I think he was absolutely adorable, just not for this movie. Overall, the movie was too predictable.
