Blurb:

In the House of Brady, three very lovely girls have hair of gold—and hearts to match—but finding a match among the gentlemen of London is one comedy of errors that could bring down the house…

MARCIA GETS SCHOOLED…
Of the three Brady sisters, Lady Marcia has always seemed the girl most likely to lead a perfectly charmed life. But after a handsome cad breaks her heart, she swears off love and devotes her life to teaching girls at a private school. In spite of her family’s wish for a London debut, Marcia is happy where she is—until terrible news sends her back to the Brady clan…and into the arms of an unexpected suitor.

ON THE SUBJECT OF LOVE
A dark and dashing earl who knows Marcia’s past, Duncan Lattimore is surprised by what a fascinating and independent woman she’s become. Marcia, too, is surprised—by the fiery attraction she feels for Duncan. But why—why—must he be the brother of the scoundrel who broke her heart? Why must Marcia’s rival at school forbid her from seeing him? How can this lady possibly resist this fellow—when they know that it’s much more than a hunch…?

A strong-willed woman matched with a duty-bound Earl with a kind heart, this book was absolutely magnificent!

From the beginning, I was sucked into this book. I just love historical romance. Add controversy and a strong-willed heroine, and you got me reading like nothing else exists.

POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW.

Lady Marcia - she was the oldest daughter of the Lord and Lady Brady. She had such amazingly in love parents and a big loving family. She fell in love when she was sixteen, but she also got her heart broken. Since then, she resolved not to ever marry or fall in love - there was no such thing as a perfect love. Of course, true love would change that bitter path :)

Earl of Chadwick - Duncan was the man behind the title, and when I met him in the beginning, he was rude and seemed like a self-important jerk. Years later, he became the lovesick puppy chasing after Lady Marcia. He liked to "fix" things around him because he grew up doing so without anybody's appreciation. He had a rough childhood, but he didn't let that mold him into a scoundrel... The same couldn't be said for his brother....

Finnian Lattimore - he was Duncan's brother and he was nothing but trouble. Do not be fooled by his charm and polite demeanor. He was a scheming, manipulating, and seducing jerk. It was crazy how he became more and more of an apparent jerk as the book progressed. I was a bit disappointed that he didn't have a happy ending. In a way, he did deserve everything he received in the end.

The characters above were only the main characters that I thought had the major roles in the story. The three of them molded the story and it revolved around their lives. This story as a whole was interesting in a way that the characters were really close to each other, including the servants, that when one left, hearts were broken and tears were shed. Nowadays, everyone is deemed disposable, there are no sentimental connection between employer and employees.

I feel as if I'm not doing this review justice. I just love this book, I don't know what to say. As for technical issues, there were minimal editing errors, but I couldn't even remember what they were. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book. Such a wonderful read!

Check out these scenes!

Duncan and Marcia:
"Certainly I do. I might have ignored you all those years ago, as you so aptly reminded me yesterday, but you can't travel with someone and not get to know them a little. I'm aware, for example, that you prefer bacon over sausage."

"You remember that?"

"Yes, I do. It could be the reason I like you. I prefer bacon, as well."
"You're the sort I'd like to kiss, if you must know."

"Lord Chadwick." Even in the dark, he saw red flags on her cheeks.

"Don't worry," he assured her. I know about the poker."

"That's right," she said in high dudgeon, and scooted farther back in her corner.
"Not everyone approves of me, you know. I find it difficult to believe, as I'm so approvable, according to my old nurse, who's ninety-two now, and my favorite horse, Samson, who loves me for all the apples I bring him--but that's how it is."
"You're both headmistress and troublemaker. Do you know what that combination does to a man?"

"No."

"It makes him unable to think of anyone but you. In the morning. At the noon hour. And at night."
He gazed at her. "Why are you here again?"

"To meet Joe. Forget the idea of having him to yourself. I intend to become his friend."
"Do you mean, you wanted to celebrate with a kiss?"

"Yes."

"Why didn't you say so immediately?"

"I tried, but you kept inter--"

((they kiss))

"And I meant to kiss you, too, for introducing us to the duke."

"Go right ahead," Duncan said, secretly amused.
Peter - Marcia's brother and Lord Brady
"But Daddy, I've spent the last eleven years being bossed about by three sisters. Are you sure young ladies have tender feelings?"

"Aye, that's the most important rule of all. You boys must always hold your ladies in the highest regard. Protect them and cherish them. Sacrifice your own needs to look after theirs. I promise the reward will be well worth it--the steadfast love of a good woman."
